Gold River BC Salmon Fishing & Halibut Fishing Lodge
Nootka Sound, Vancouver Island, BC Canada

Lodging & Meals

Chinootka Lodge is a unique floating lodge, offering guided fishing and a full service accommodation facility.

Our size is one of our greatest assets. With 10 guest rooms, we are limited to just 20 guests when the lodge is full: not too many, but enough so you can socialize with others should you choose to.

At the same time, the Lodge itself is roomy enough for you to have private time should that be your preference.

We have 10 guest bedrooms on two floors with his and hers washrooms with showers on each floor. Bedrooms do not have private washroom facilities.

The Lodge has three outdoor deck sitting areas, all which have spectacular views of the surrounding scenery.

Meals

We're "up and at 'em" early! Our day starts early at Chinootka Lodge with all of our fishermen getting up for the "early bite". The generators start up at 4:45 a.m. and our staff prepares a full continental breakfast for the early risers. A great variety of cereals, fruits, fresh baked muffins and croissants, juices and fresh coffee await you.

Lunch on the go - our lunches are prepared to take on board as generally the chartered groups are gone for the day. On larger groups we will often pack the barbecues and do a salmon barbecue with the boats rafted up together. This is a big hit and a well-deserved break from fighting big West Coast Chinooks or halibut.

Self-guided groups are welcome to take their lunches or break and come in for hot homemade soup or chowder, buns and/or sandwiches. Hot meals are prepared for everyone on their departure morning.

Would you like red or white wine with dinner? At 5:30 p.m. our chef David will provide you with some great "appys" along with his delicious homemade breads. At 6:00 p.m. you can sit down to a full-serve 3-course meal with your choice of red or white wine. All of our appetizers, entrees, breads and desserts are made fresh daily. Our 6-day rotating supper menu consists of roast beef, seafood, turkey, ribs, pork tenderloin and chicken cordon bleu.

Evenings

Activities after supper hours are entirely up to the individual. You may relax in the sitting room and catch up on news and sports on satellite TV or enjoy a movie in your room on one of our portable DVD players. If you still have some energy left you may choose a kayak trip around the bay or enjoy a cocktail with other guests around our outside fire pit. Any way you do it you can't beat an evening sunset in beautiful Nootka Sound. What a place to be!

Snacks are available all evening and you may come and go as you please throughout the lodge. NO SMOKING is permitted within the lodge and doorway areas. We have Internet available for those who have to check e-mails and satellite phone service for emergencies.
